Barbara Walters the legendary journalist has died at 93. Known for her tough interviews with leaders and celebrities including: Richard Nixon, Fidel Castro, Barbara Streisand, John Wayne and Monica Lewinsky.

Walters career spanned over 60 years. She began her on-air career in 1956 as a writer for CBS’ morning show. In 1961 she became NBC’s “Today Girl and in 1974 became the first female co-host of Today. Walters career was catapulted by her coverage of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. Walters Last major engagement was on “The View” from which she retired in 2014 but made a few special appearances afterwards.
