My health has deteriorated over the past two years

I have decided to start geriatric care…

I recently received a hospice referral from my GP practice. Hospice is a type of care for people who are nearing the end of their lives. My health has deteriorated over the past two years due to connective tissue disease.
After the specialist gave up or pushed me away, I’m at a loss. All treatments were ineffective. You fought bravely for a long time. God has shown the way forward through much prayer, divine counsel, and medical help. It’s time to go home.

To be honest, I left my doctor’s office with a big smile on my face. The thought of being in the fullness of God’s greatness fills my heart with joy (1 Corinthians 12:13). On the other hand, I was sad with friends and relatives as they prepared their final farewell. Death is a terrible thing. But for the believer, this is only the beginning.

On January 17th, we will begin the process of weaning me off my meds. By the end of February, I’ll be dead.

Please pray for my bereaved family and friends’ consolation. Please also pray for me to finish the remainder of my race well. I want to run hard till the very end, not stumbling in the final miles (Heb. 12:1-3). In 1 Corinthians 9:26-27, Paul expresses this wish eloquently. “As a result, I don’t run aimlessly, and I don’t box as if I’m punching the air. But I regulate my body and keep it under control, lest I be disqualified after preaching to others.”

I’ll keep you all informed. I’m a writer with a lot of unfinished business. I expect to produce a lot of content. Join me on my death journey. More significantly, please join me in the Christian faith’s race. Joy is waiting for you (Psalm 16:11).
