After being diagnosed with aphasia, Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting.
Bruce Willis’ family said in a joint statement shared on social media that the Die Hard star is quitting his job after being diagnosed with aphasia.
Damage to certain areas of the brain impairs the ability to understand or form words in this disease. Strokes or traumatic damage are the most common causes.
Bruce’s daughter Rumer rushed to Instagram to break the news which has devastated her millions of followers. “We wanted to share with Bruce’s amazing fans as a family that our dear Bruce has been having some health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia which was affecting his cognitive abilities,” she said alongside the photo of her father.
He decided
“As a result, and after much thought, Bruce decided to leave a career that meant so much to him.”
“We appreciate your continued love, compassion and support at this very difficult time for our family.” We’re treating this as a strong family unit and we wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, just like you do him.
“As Bruce often says, ‘Live your life,’ and that’s what we want to do.”
To say the least, Bruce’s acting career has been impressive. He has appeared in a number of iconic films over the years and has cemented his reputation as one of the greatest actors of all time.
He is originally known for the television sitcom Moonlighting, for which he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. This versatile actor has proven to Hollywood that he can play any role well.
Armageddon, Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, The Last Boy Scout, Twelve Monkeys, The Sixth Sense, Looper, and Moonrise Kingdom are among the films that defined his career.
He’s also dabbled in the world of family comedies. Bruce featured in seven films last year, and three more have already come out this year, none of which have won critical acclaim. Eight additional completed films are scheduled for release in 2022 and 2023.

We’ll miss seeing this wonderful actor on screen, but we’re glad he’s getting the care he requires.
