10. Cellulose
It’s used in cheese, salads, muffins, and syrup, for example. It’s main purpose is to thicken foods by replacing fat and increasing fiber at the same time. It’s used frequently by fast food giants like McDonalds, Jack in the Box, and KFC, for example, because it saves money by allowing the restaurants to scale back on such ingredients as oil and flour.
