1. IDENTITY THE HABIT YOU’D LIKE TO CHANGE AND BEGIN THE TRANSITION.
The punch line “The light bulb has to want to change.” holds true. In order to change a habit, you must be willing to take action and stick to your plan. Once you show a desire to change, new pathways will quickly form in your brain.
2. OBSERVE THE EFFECT THE OLD HABIT OR PATHWAY IS HAVING ON YOUR LIFE.
Take notice of the feelings, thoughts, and body changes that are caused by the habit. Awareness is the most important step towards changing a habit.
3. FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE.
This step is very important.
Taking the focus off the old habit helps it fall away. Ignore the donuts and cakes; focus your attention on your health and settle for more wholesome foods.
4. YOUR IMAGINATION IS KEY.
Imagining new, positive behaviors will retrain your brain and help build new neural pathways. Repeat your new behaviors in your mind and focus your brain.
5. INTERRUPT OLD HABITS AND THOUGHTS.
Repeat the words “no” or “cancel” when a negative impulse or thought comes to mind. Say to yourself “I don’t have to do that anymore.” and continue on your new neural pathway.
6. TRY AVERSION THERAPY
This form of therapy might not be right for everyone. Considered the “maggots on the chocolate cake technique.” aversion therapy is optional. I used to love candies and sweets, and when I stopped eating them, I still had to pass by them when I walked by the candy store in town. Using aversion, I said to myself, “That’s junk, it’s made in factories, sickeningly sweet, makes me feel bad. The company makes it so sweet just to addict buyers. I don’t want any of that.” I’ve this technique with my willing clients on smoking, junk food, cocaine, and many other behaviors.
7. MAKE A SPECIFIC PLAN.
Having a specific plan makes it easier to visualize your goals and build new neural pathways. You make the choice; you can choose between exercising and overeating or eating fruit instead of candy. Keep your focus on the new choice and reinforce this choice with energy therapies or similar techniques.
8. CHANGE THE OBSTACLES.
Instead of trying to remove obstacles, change them completely. Identify the stress and problems in your life and think of how you can handle them differently. Control your emotions and thoughts and start a new path of possibilityin your mind.
9. CONNECT WITH A HIGHER POWER FOR INSPIRATION AND SUPPORT.
Follow our guidance. Become aware of the Force within you, and understand that you have great power. Studies on the brains of monks show thatmeditation creates new pathways and brain changes. Regular meditation will have a positive influence on your neural circuits.
10. MAKE THE MOVE TOWARDS CHANGE.
Complete transformation is always possible. Once you are ready to commit to new life changes, your mind will start to create new neural pathways. When you keep your mind in the”I can do it!” space, you get a clear sense that you’re ready to erase the old and start a new chapter. There is the constant feeling that we are being spirituallyrewired for a new era and a new chance at life. There’s a process of transformation taking place on earth for all of humanity. You must overcome your fears, stay in the present moment, and raise your awareness of the Infinite source so you can be a vehicle for the light to predominate on the earth.
